GrabIt ("GrabIt", "we", "us") is operated as a free downloader tool. This page explains what we collect, why, and what we do not store.
The short version
- We never store the videos, audio, or media files you download. Files are prepared on demand and deleted from our server within minutes of being handed to you.
- We do not share your data with advertisers. There are no third-party ad networks on this site.
- When you sign in with Google, we receive your name, email, and avatar from Google's standard OAuth profile — nothing more. We use them to identify your account and contact you about your account if needed.
- We process some technical information (IP address, browser) for security and abuse prevention. This is standard for any web service.
What we collect
Anonymous use
When you use GrabIt without signing in, we record only the technical information needed to run the service:
- Your IP address, for rate limiting and abuse prevention.
- The platform and URL you submit, briefly, only to fetch the file you requested. We do not log full URLs to disk after the request completes.
- Standard server logs (HTTP status, response time, user-agent).
Signed-in use
When you sign in with Google, we additionally store:
- Your Google account name, email, and avatar.
- A history of which links you processed and which formats you downloaded — so you can find them again on your dashboard. You can clear this history at any time.
- Per-day usage counters, so we can apply fair-use limits and let you see how much of your daily quota remains.
What we do not collect
- We do not collect or store your downloaded media files after the download completes.
- We do not sell or share your personal data with third parties.
- We do not run advertising trackers, fingerprinting, or session replay tools.
- We do not access content from private accounts on any platform.
How long we keep data
- Prepared media files: deleted from our server within minutes of your download finishing. Even if you never come back to fetch them, they expire and are removed.
- Server logs: retained for up to 30 days for security and abuse investigation, then deleted.
- Account data: kept while your account is active. If you delete your account, your data is removed within 14 days.
Cookies
We use a single, strictly-necessary session cookie when you sign in. We do not use marketing or tracking cookies.
Third parties
We use the following third-party services to operate GrabIt:
- Google Sign-Infor authentication. Subject to Google's own privacy policy.
- Our hosting provider for the servers that run this site. The host receives IP addresses and server logs as part of standard hosting.
Your rights
You can request a copy of your account data, correct it, or delete it. Email [email protected] and we will respond within 30 days.
Changes
We will update this page when our practices change. The "last updated" date at the top reflects the most recent change.
